Body skin care products tend to be much more simple, ingredient wise, and also less effective and nutritious for the skin than face products. Since the rest of our body is made of skin too, which in turn is the biggest organ on our body, I’ve been looking for good body skin care products that are better than your average body butter. In my search I’ve come across the Mio Future Proof Active Body Butter – In-Depth Review and Ingredient Analysis, which is a great option and much better than most body butters out there, but still not the amazing, do it all cream that I wanted.
As a result, I have also been looking for body skin care addons, products that I can use before or after this body butter to enhance moisturisation and the “nutrient” level of the cream.
I found two products that fit this description, the Hand Chemistry Hyaluronic Acid Body Mist and The Chemistry Brand Hyaluronic Acid Concentrate Gel and I have reviewed these products in detail previously.

Note that the Hyaluronic Acid Mist bottle is empty in these pictures. To see how a full, brand new spray bottle looks like check out the in-depth review of the item here.
Since both products seemed like good options and both are from the same brand (Hand Chemistry is the old name for The Chemistry Brand = same company) you would likely make a choice and only buy one of them. But which one is best?
Here’s how the two products compare across all categories (green background = positive, red = negative, grey = equal/neutral).
While they have different texture (spray vs gel) neither of them is a specific positive or negative in this case, but it can be personal preference. I for example, prefer the gel, as you waste less product whereas it’s too easy to spray too much of the mist, but as it is all down to personal preference, I’ve rated them as equal. Same goes for practicality of use, user experience.
On the other hand, the packaging, results, skin compatibility and other information where almost identical.
It’s a very close battle as both products are good, but I would personally recommend the gel over the mist for the 3 main categories I highlighted: smell, price and ingredients.
However, both products are good and the one that wins it for you can be down to personal circumstances and preference, for example if you prefer a gel to a mist, or if you have a movement disability or difficult to get areas then the spray might be easier and more practical for you to use etc.
I highly recommend you add one of these two to your body skin care routine, prior to your moisturiser, especially in winter when our skin tends to dry out more and even more so if like me you have dry body skin (and oily face go figure!).
This brand also makes an excellent hand cream which I highly recommend:

I like the new table format – makes it easy to compare! Personally I enjoy using body oils around once a week to boost hydration. Not as good as hyaluronic acid, but I’m not as concerned as I should be…

Glad you like the table, trying something new 🙂 Oils would be the straightforward answer but they don’t work for me unfortunately. Even though my body skin is dry, the oils never thoroughly go into my skin and I always feel oily for long after. That’s partly why I loved this gel, it’s the perfect texture for anyone who is having a “my skin doesn’t like oils” problem.
