Coffee Chat: Maintenance week

Hello my lovelies,

Just a quick coffee chat to keep you up to date with the posting schedule this week. Sadly, there will be no new review posts this week as I’d like to spend the time maintening the blog. There will be another coffee chat though on New Year resolutions on Thursday the 27th.

As you might know already, being a blogger is more of a hobby for me, I have a full time job as a research chemist. I finally have this week off work and I’d like to spend it going through the blog, doing some maintenance after a year’s worth of posts and editing some old ones to bring them up to speed. There is no rest for the wicked!

But despair not! There are plenty of posts to read about this week. For science posts check out Bonds of Beauty (all articles here) and for lots of in-depth reviews have a look at Beauty In-depth Reviews & Ingredient Analysis (all articles here).

There’s so many things behind running a blog that many (including myself when I first started) don’t realise. It’s not just taking pictures and writting some words down. I can see why for some it is a full time job, it can get very technical as well. For me it’s a hobby that I have to find time for whenever I can. So please bear with me this week as I update some content and fix some website related stuff. Most of a blog’s traffic comes from older posts so it’s very important to update them every now and again, if there is something important to add of course. I think I’ve improved some of my ingredient analysis and way of presenting some of the content so I’d like to go back and update some parts.

I will be updating all posts under Bonds of Beauty (all articles here), Bonds of Fitness (all articles here) and Beauty In-depth Reviews & Ingredient Analysis (all articles here). I’ve updated some this week already but still a lot to go. Time related posts like beauty box unboxings will be left untouched.

Next week it’s back to business as usual. As we are approaching the end of the year, I will be posting my annual beauty box comparisons and scores to crown the beauty box of the year, as well as the annual Bonds of Beauty awards, which is basically a chemist’s favourite products of the year (my ride or dies).

I have a papyrous long list of posts I want to write about in 2019, the list of products, concepts and subjects just never ends! There is even one post coming soon on a ceramide capsule product that was requested a while ago (I don’t forget just need to get it in the posting queue!).

If there are products, concepts or subjects that you want to read about in 2019 then please let me know, this is your blog as much as mine! Without you this blog wouldn’t exist.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you so much for your support, it means the world to me. There have been many days that your comments and support has kept me going this year. I am human and like all of you, I do despair sometimes and want to quit. Having a time consuming full time job (science research is a lifestyle not a 9-5 job) is very tiring and then having to come home and run a blog (which is essentially another full time job) is even more so. Not to mention all the times when life was just throwing lemons at me, I’ve had a couple of awful years, but let’s not get into that. I wanted to give up so many times but your comments and love (and some of my stubbornness) have kept me going. It’s very true what they say, you don’t know when or how your comments can impact someone else. If you thought that your comments are just comments, let it be known that they are so much more than that to me. Your support is truly the best Christmas gift I could have ever asked for.

I hope you are relaxing home already or soon enough. Have a Merry Christmas, enjoy the food, the festivities and a lot of fun time with your loved ones.

Please subscribe and share this blog, or a certain post, if you like it.

Lots of Love,

Bonds of Beauty

* Important note *

Running a blog costs a lot of money. A blog is not just a site on the internet, there are bills associated with it, like for example paying for the technical aspects like the website address or tech support. Not to mention all the products that a blogger has to buy and test before finding the ones that are worth writting about or recommending. Even with a full time job, a big part of my salary is going into the blog and sometimes it feels that I’m working just to keep this blog going. There are ways of making money returns, like for example using advertisments etc but noone likes that, so please help keep this blog “clean” and going. Please use the donation button below and let me know (in the comments, by email or on my social media) if you would like the money to be used on a certain product, subject, concept etc. You can donate as little as £1 or as much as you like by changing the number in the box below.  Thank you so much for your support.
