Cohorted Beauty Box September 2019 – Unboxing and Product Reviews

Cohorted has been creating very exciting beauty boxes this year and it’s a joy to observe and experience. All I’m going to say is, this month’s box came with a Morphe palette!

The Cohorted box was the new black, square-ish box that closes with a lid. The box also came with its monthly, small beauty magazine (about 30 pages) that tells you a little bit more about each product and some featured products or artists.

Cohorted September 2019 contained 9 products but some of them were sample size.

Let’s have a look at the products in more detail. These are short reviews that cover first impressions and experiences from using the products. For full reviews, including ingredient analysis and if I would recommend a product or not, check out: Beauty In-depth Reviews & Ingredient Analysis (all articles here). Bear in mind that these are my personal opinions and that beauty is a very personal thing, we all have different skin, requirements and biological build which can influence things. Morphe Artistry Palette Hotspot 35H

I don’t often wear intense colourful eyeshadows and this palette would not be something I would normally pick up. What a shame though because it is absolutely gorgeous and it’s not as scary as you might think. You can create work friendly and toned down looks as well or use a little colour under the waterline for a little pop. Either way, this palette is so much more attractive in real life than in picture I’ve seen.

The quality of the shadows is good and they last all day long without creasing, if you wear a good eyeshadow primer.

This is a full-size palette containing 35 colours of which 19 are shimmers and the rest are matte. For just £23 it’s worth having if you don’t have a colourful palette, even if you’re not a big fan of intense looks. Add some colour to your life! SCORE = 10/10

Suva Beauty Liquid Chrome Illuminating Drops in Shade Trust Fund

This is the type of highlighter that will blind planes if you use a lot of it or can just give you a nice summer glow if you work it in.

The liquid is easy to work with and it can even be mixed with a foundation or moisturiser. It’s definitely a product I will experiment with!

This 15mL bottle even comes with a nice dropper, lasts for 12M and retails for £25. SCORE = 8/10

Suva Beauty Moisture Matte Liquid Lipstick in Shade Awakening

What a gorgeous every day pink-nude shade. This liquid lipstick is very lightweight to wear and it works well. It doesn’t feel sticky and it dries quickly. It doesn’t feel drying on the lips but neither particularly moisturising. However, the best thing about it is that it doesn’t look as dry as many other liquid lipsticks, as it doesn’t set into lines too harshly.

However, like any liquid lipstick, it comes off a little when drinking or eating and it’s best re-applied if you take the entire old layer off.

This is a full size, 3.5mL lipstick that lasts for 12M and retails for £17. It is also cruelty free and vegan friendly. SCORE = 8/10

Colorwow Deam Coat Anti-Humidity Hair Treatment

I am very excited about this product. It is meant to be a treatment to stop your hair from frizzing and generally calm it down. Exactly what my hair needs. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to try it yet but I am very excited to.

All you need to do is apply it to damp hair and then blow dry. It is meant to last for a while but for best results use every 3rd shampoo session.

This treatment is apparently activated by heat and gives sleek, smooth and super-silky hair. I am really looking forward to this!

A 200mL bottle is a full size which retails for £24 and lasts for 12M.

Milk Makeup Mini Highlighter

I was very excited to see this product in the box as it’s not very easy to get Milk makeup in the UK. Thanks Cohorted, nice one!

This mini highlighter works and gives a natural shine. It doesn’t blind planes but it is buildable to an extent. The colour is a beautiful copper which might not suit all skin tones as a cheek highlighter but can also be used in other ways like to highlight eyes.

This is a mini containing 3g and it is worth £10. SCORE = 8/10

Milk Makeup Mini Sunshine Oil

This oil is a mixture of grape seed and avocado. It is meant to moisturise the skin and it comes with a roll-on ball to apply. Although it has an oily texture it doesn’t feel particularly oily on the skin and it gets absorbed quickly.

My skin didn’t feel any different from before, it still felt dry so I can’t say that I am impressed by this one. On the plus side, it has a nice lemony type of scent which is pleasant, but this would likely mean that it contains perfume which is not ideal for skincare.

This 8mL mini is worth £10. SCORE = 5/10

Milk Makeup Mini Face Mist

This mini face mist is not a setting spray but rather a product to refresh your skin or wake yourself up. It contains rice and ginger water as well as some botanical ingredients.

It definitely feels refreshing, but so would just spraying yourself with water. It has a very subtle spray type of scent that is neither pleasant or unpleasant. It is absorbed by the skin quickly and doesn’t leave sticky residues behind.

It’s an ok product but I can’t say I was particularly impressed. The bottle also came with a large stain of an unknow white substance which wasn’t great.

This mini is worth £10. SCORE = 6/10

Miss Patisserie Milk and Honey Bath Melt

This bath melt is super cute and it has a gorgeous sweet scent. It looks so nice that I almost don’t want to use it and I was in luck as I didn’t have time to.

Nevertheless, this cute little bath bomb could be a nice addon to a warm bubble bath. Since I didn’t try it yet I won’t score it. This is a full size melt that retails for £5.

Marc Jacobs Eau So Decadent EDT

This perfume has a strong floral scent that I personally wasn’t a big fan of but since it is all about personal taste, I won’t be scoring it. However, it was still nice to try it out and since it was an addon and not a replacement for a beauty product, it is welcome in this box.

This is a sample size perfume that you could get for free over a counter.

Overall, I wasn’t a fan of the small sizes of a lot of the products in this box but the Morphe palette just saves the day. This was a nice and fun box. At a value of ~£124 this box is worth the cash.

Initial box score, in terms of products and first feelings = 9/10

Overall box score after product testing (average of product scores) = 7.5/10

Star product = Morphe Artistry Palette Hotspot 35H

  1. Lila says:

I was very disappointed with mine, it did not come with a Morphe palette but another Zoova Cocoa blend that they have already sent me this year in the March box! Neither did I get the Marc Jacobs perfume, I got the Agent Provocateur one again that they sent me in February’s box…
    not cool Cohorted
