I was very excited for this month’s Cohorted as the box was incredibly heavy when it arrived in the post!
The Cohorted box was a white, square box that closes with a lid. The box also came with it’s monthly, small beauty magazine (about 30 pages) that tells you a little bit more about each product and some featured products or artists.
This months Cohorted contained 6 full size Monuskin products. I love when Cohorted does one box one brand months, even if I’m not a fan of Monuskin (because the ingredients are usually standard but the prices are high). All products are vegan and cruelty free.
Let’s have a look at the products in more detail. These are short reviews that cover first impressions and experiences from using the products. For full reviews, including ingredient analysis and if I would recommend a product or not, check out: Beauty In-depth Reviews & Ingredient Analysis (all articles here). Bear in mind that these are my personal opinions and that beauty is a very personal thing, we all have different skin, requirements and biological build which can influence things. Monuskin Cleansing Balm
This balm definetely contains some good ingredients but it doesn’t really matter so much as this is a rinse-off product. It works well and takes away dirt and makeup but at the same time it’s not as good as the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm.
The only thing that puts me off is the intense lemon off-scent. The packaging is simple and the product comes in a glass jar which is heavy and looks nice.
This 50mL jar is full size, lasts for 12M and retails for £20. SCORE = 7/10
Monuskin Micro Exfoliant
This exfoliant is based on tiny micro beads that feel kind to the skin. It contains very standard ingredients, with the exception of Diatomaceous Earth (which is 80-90% silica) and Papaya Enzyme.
It works well and leaves the skin soft but also dry. I’d personally recommend AHA and BHA exfoliation instead. This product has a lemon off-scent.
This 150mL bottle is a full size which lasts for 12M and retails for £18.95. SCORE = 7/10
Monuskin Beauty Balm
This product has a burnt orange off-scent and a creamy consistency.
It is a balm that is meant to use before your moisturiser to add lifting, tightening and radiance to the skin. I can’t say that I saw any of the claims but the skin felt a little more moisturised than before.
The ingredients are again fairly standard with the exception of a couple of them. It also contains parabens and the price of £37.50 is just not worth it. There are other serums in the market around that price or less with much better ingredients.
This full size, 50mL, bottle comes with a pump and lasts for 12M. SCORE = 6/10
Monuskin Hydrating Mask
This is a mask you are meant to apply on dry, clean skin, leave for 10-15 minutes and then remove with warm water.
It has a thick cream consistensy and a light lemon off-scent. The ingredients are a dissapointment though, even a lot of one-off sheet masks are more nourishing. It also contains parabens if you avoid them.
This 50mL bottle lasts for 12M and retails for £24.95. SCORE = 5/10
Monuspa Bergamot & Orange Shampoo
This shampoo has a burtn orange scent and a see-through gel-like consistency. It works well and cleans the hair. Although this is a shampoo and the ingredients are not meant to be skincare worthy, they are dissapointingly simple. It’s actually more simple than a £3 L’oreal shampoo so again, the price vs ingredients don’t match up.
Atleast this product doesn’t contain parabens or SLS although it does contain a
This 300mL bottle is full size, lasts for 12M and retails for £14.95. SCORE = 5/10
Monuspa Jojoba & Lemon Conidtioner
Similar story here as with the shampoo. Very simple product ingredient-wise, so simple than I’m not even sure if it actually conditions enough to be worth using.
It has a thick cream consistency and a lemon scent.
This 300mL bottle is full size, lasts for 12M and retails for £14.95. SCORE = 5/10
Overall, I really liked that Cohorted did a one-brand box and that they included so many full size products. It was so exciting to open the box when I felt how heavy it was! Unfortunately though I wish it was a different brand (but that’s not Cohorted’s fault) as I am not a fan of Monuski and Monuspa, simply because the ingredients vs price don’t match up.
Initial box score, in terms of products and first feelings = 10/10
Overall box score after product testing (average of product scores) = 5.8/10
Box value = £131.30
Star product = Monuskin Cleansing Balm

I don’t know this brand but the box looked very interesting, too bad it wasn’t all that much

Cohorted is a posh UK beauty box for those who want full size products from reputable brands. Like any other beauty box though, sometimes it’s a hit and sometimes a miss, although unlike other boxes, when it’s a miss it’s more because I personally don’t like the products (most of the time due to ingredients) and that’s not Cohorted’s fault. It is part of discovery to find the likes but also dislikes. Thank you for reading my lovely 🙂
