Cohorted Beauty Box March 2020 – Unboxing and Product Reviews

The Cohorted box was as always the standard black, square box that closes with a lid. The box also came with it’s monthly, small beauty magazine (about 30 pages) that tells you a little bit more about each product and some featured products or artists. Although this month I got the February magazine in my box and it has started to happen quite often that the magazine would be either missing or be the wrong month.

Cohorted March 2020 contained 7 products, of which 5 were full size.

Let’s have a look at the products in more detail. These are short reviews that cover first impressions and experiences from using the products. For full reviews, including ingredient analysis and if I would recommend a product or not, check out: Beauty In-depth Reviews & Ingredient Analysis (all articles here). Bear in mind that these are my personal opinions and that beauty is a very personal thing, we all have different skin, requirements and biological build which can influence things. Malée Conditioning Body Cream

This body cream has an intense refreshing almost botanical type of scent which is pleasant. The cream is relatively thick, so it’s more like a body butter than a lotion but it spreads easily and is absorbed quickly.

Malée Conditioning Body Cream

The skin is left feeling soft and moisturised. The ingredients are alright but nothing so amazing that is a skincare must buy. Body creams really have a long way to go in terms of skin nourishing.

This 200mL tube is a full size which lasts for 12M and retails for £20. SCORE = 7/10

Avant Sumptuous Glycolic Acid Hand Balm

The cream smells nice and spreads easily while the skin feels soft.

Avant Sumptuous Glycolic Acid Hand Balm

The ingredients are not particularly impressive and this is yet another example of an overpriced Avant product. There are hand creams that are a quarter of a price with better ingredients.

This 50mL tube is full size, retails for £92 and lasts for 12M. SCORE = 6/10

Suqqu Designing Color Eyes in 126 Aoryuusei

This 4 eyeshadow palette looks and feels luxurious. It contains 4 shimmers, a light yellow, grey, turquoise and purple, a mirror and also 2 brushes.

I personally don’t like palettes like this one because they are not standalone and hence, why would I carry them with me? There is no benefit to the travel size properties they have since you will need to carry more products with you. Might aswell have a big palette that atelast will give you a variety of looks.

In terms of quality, the eyeshadows worked alright. They didn’t crease but I always wear an eyeshadow primer so I didn’t expect them to. The colours are beautiful but this will be another palette that I will forget at the back of a drawer.

The ingredients are standard for eyeshadow palettes. This palette is a full size which contains 5.6g, lasts for 12M and retails for a ridiculous £46. For that kind of cash (less actually) you can buy yourself a high-end, standalone palette with multiple shades, so quite frankly I don’t know why anyone would buy this. SCORE = 6/10

Ciaté London Nail Varnish in Dangerous Affair

This colour is absolutely gorgeous! I love the dark red.

The brand’s bottles are always a U shape which is cute and come with a bow. It’s easy to use and it lasted me 2 days before starting to chip.

This is a full size, 13.4mL bottle which lasts for 24M and retails for £12. SCORE = 8/10

Skyn Icelandic Relief Eye Cream

This travel size, 4g, eye cream contains some interesting ingredients. It feels nice on the skin and gets absorbed quickly.

Skyn Icelandic Relief Eye Cream

I didn’t notice any resutls but as always, skincare takes time so don’t judge products from one or a few usage goes.

It is cruelty free and vegan and it lasts 3M. The full size, 14g retails for £40 and so this travel size is estimated around £11.43. SCORE = 8/10

Skyn Iceland Glacial Face Wash

This cleanser works well but like with any product of this type, you need to go over a full face of makeup twice.

Skyn Iceland Glacial Face Wash

It contains some good ingredients which unfortunately are probably mostly wasted as rinse off products don’t spend enough time on your skin to absorb a reasonable quantity of them. That’s why all a cleanser needs to do is clean not nourish.

This 20mL cleanser is a travel size which lasts for 12M and retails for £3.33. SCORE = 7/10

Natura Coconut Oil Infused Sheet Mask

Any mask is usually a pleasant relaxing experience but when it comes to actual skincare benefits, they are a overated.

Natura Coconut Oil Infused Sheet Mask

This mask left my skin soft but I can’t say that I’ve noticed any other effect. The ingredients did not particularly impress me either but that’s fine as long as you are aware that masks tend to be (most of the time not always) more about relaxation rather than skincare addons that will make a huge difference. Relaxing and having a bit of me-time can be amazing for your skin too and if you choose a mask with ingredients that are not contained in the rest of your regime, then it could be a valuable addon.

All you need to do with this mask is leave it on clean skin for 15 minutes. No need to rinse after.

This mask is vegan, full-size, not animal tested, water free and retails for £5.95. SCORE = 7/10

Cohorted Beauty Box March 2020 4

Overall, this month’s Cohorted felt dissapointing. The box didn’t feel luxurious and it was missing the, £40 well spent factor!

Initial box score, in terms of products and first feelings = 6/10

Overall box score after product testing (average of product scores) = 7/10

Box value = £190.71

Star product = Ciaté London Nail Varnish in Dangerous Affair
