Welcome to the review corner for the Cohorted UK version!
This is a general review, for specific month reviews, including product reviews, search by box name and month or look out for upcoming review posts.
The Cohorted subscription beauty box advertises itself as “voted number one” and it is true. There are many magazine s and other reviews that suggest choosing Cohorted over the other UK subscription boxes.
The Cohorted box is currently £40.00 (about £25 more than other beauty boxes) with free P&P a month and unlike the other three (Birchbox, Glossybox and Look Fantastic) it is a one month pre-order box meaning that if you subscribe this month you will only start receiving boxes next month. It is the last box to ship and receive out of all 4 that I subscribe to (Birhcbox, Glossybox, Look Fantastic, Cohorted) but it is always worth the wait.
It usually contains 5+ beauty products each month and a small Beauty magazine (about 10-20 pages) that has a little info about each product, current trends and articles on other beauty products that are not included. The products could be anything from makeup to skincare to nail or hair products, beauty tools and even brushes. So basically, anything beauty related!
Similarly to the Look Fantastic box and unlike Glossybox and Birchbox, you do not get the option to create a “personal beauty profile” so unfortunately, you cannot let them know if you are a blonde or brunette or if you have oily skin etc. Although I did not like the lack of personalisation in the Look Fantastic box, it is somehow acceptable in the Cohorted box because even if you receive products that you might not have otherwise wanted, the fancy brand names will give you that little push of curiosity to go ahead and try them anyways.
The box is always a square black box with a lid. The quality of the cardboard is high and it’s very useful for storage or gifting. Unfortunately there is no monthly theme or box design print however, like Glossybox and Look Fantastic the contents come in a bed of black straw-like material. Despite the lack of personalisation and fancy monthly box design, it still gives you a luxury feel and excitement to open it. It is an amazing monthly treat or gift to a friend!
The contents of this box are always high end products. You will not find drugstore products in this one! It is definitely the most “posh” UK subscription beauty box and despite it’s higher subscription price, it is always value for money.
The Cohorted beauty box products are mostly full size and sometimes travel size (10-30mL) and not often the small, 1-2 time use samples (with the exception of face masks), which is absolutely amazing. The products in this box not only will last you enough time to test and figure out if you like them or not, but they will be around for a few months! Most products arrive sealed and in their original packaging so you know that noone opened or used them which also makes their exparation date more accurate.
The Cohorted beauty box does not have a loyalty scheme like Birchbox or Glossybox but you might get an email asking you to review the box for a chance to win 3 boxes for free. This is not something that you can initiate as the review link is not found in your account. Reviewing the current products in the box is also not a thing here.
Finally, unlike the other boxes, Cohorted is the one box that gives you no spoilers whatsoever as to what next month holds which I absolutely love.
Personal opinion: Is it my favourite? It is! Absolutely love this one! This box is in a different league than the other three even if you just consider the price point. In terms of the more affordable and drugstore-mainstream product balance then yes Glossybox is the best, but if you can spare the cash and love the high-end brands then Cohorted will leave you waiting impatiently for next month! This box is a very good value for money and I love getting full size products even if I don’t know if I like them or not. So greedy!
