Too Faced Peaches and Cream Collection – Reviews and Swatches

Too Faced launched a Peaches and Cream Collection which is meant to be an “all matt” type and it is an almost self-contained collection, meaning that it almost has any make up product you might need.

I have been playing with the products for about two months now, so here’s all the details you need to know, product by product, on the Peaches and Cream: primer, foundation, eye shadow palette, blur finishing powder, bronzer, radiant bronzer, setting powder and lipstick!

Primed and Peachy Cooling Matte Skin Perfecting Primer

This is an excellent primer if you are very oily. It will definitely keep you matte all day long, especially if you combine it with the Estée Lauder Daywear Matte Day Cream. Without these two products, I am a disco ball, so if you are oily like me give the primer (and moisturiser) a try.

However, ingredient wise, this is a primer that will keep you matt and that’s pretty much it. It won’t give your skin any “nutritional love” like some other primers can do. So for me, I use this primer only on specific areas where I get oily (around the T zone) and use a more nourishing primer all over the face. I personally highly recommend the This Works In Transit Camera Mask, Moisturiser & Primer for an all over the face primer. See upcoming post for an ingredient and function comparison of this primer vs the Primed & Peachy and why some primers are for specific areas where others are for all over the face.

The Primed and Peachy primer comes in a tube that has a golden pump. It is very practical and easy to use. It feels hydrating (but don’t rely on it for hydration) and gets absorbed very fast by the skin. It doesn’t leave any residue behind. It is a peachy cream but doesn’t add colour to the face and it smells gorgeous, like peaches and cream.

Verdict: One of my favourite, for specific areas only, primers.

Peach Perfect Comfort Matte Foundation

I wrote a detailed article on this foundation a while ago, comparing it to the Estée Lauder Double Wear and the Too Faced Born this Way foundation. See “Three way battle of the foundations: Estée Lauder Double Wear vs Too Faced Peach Perfect vs Too Faced Born this Way”.

As a chemist I can tell you that this foundation is the closest dupe out there at the moment, for the Estée Laude Double Wear foundation. Much closer than even the Revlon Color Stay (for a comparison see “Battle of the foundations: Estée Lauder Double Wear vs Revlon Color Stay. A chemist’s verdict on whether it is a true dupe”). It behaves completely the same and even has a couple of good for your skin compounds but also a couple debatable ones. See “Three way battle of the foundations: Estée Lauder Double Wear vs Too Faced Peach Perfect vs Too Faced Born this Way” for full details.

It smells like peaches and cream and looks gorgeous on the skin. Very natural and yet almost full coverage if you add a second layer. Exactly the same as the Estée Lauder Double Wear. It lasts all day and it keeps oily skin matt.

If it wasn’t for the lack of available shades, only 20 at the moment, I would have used this as my holy grail foundation together with the Estée Lauder Double Wear but unfortunately, the colour selection is incredibly small and I couldn’t find a shade to match me. I also felt that the colours I tried (Warm Nude and Light Beige) were a little on the orange side even though they were meant to be neutral undertonned. All these details and more are covered in “Three way battle of the foundations: Estée Lauder Double Wear vs Too Faced Peach Perfect vs Too Faced Born this Way”.

Verdict: An amazing dupe for the Estée Lauder Double Wear at 80% match, but the lack of available shades make this foundation unwearable.

Just Peachy Mattes Eyeshadow Palette

This is a gorgeous eye shadow palette that I highly recommend. The colours are amazing, pigmented and creamy. They last all day, do not crease and the shadows smell like peaches and cream.

The palette has a giant mirror inside and a very elegant and expensive looking and feeling packaging. All 12 colours are mattes and they are cohesive, meaning that you can easily create a full look with this palette.

It is one of the palettes I reach out for often but it does come with the downside of not having any shimmers or metallics. For this reason I personally think that this palette is the little sister of the Too Faced Sweet Peach and that those two together complement each other nicely.

For a detailed comparison on how the Just Peachy Mattes compares to the Sweet Peach and for next to each other swatches check out “Battle of the Peaches – Too Faced Sweet Peach vs Too Faced Just Peachy Mattes”.

Verdict: A must have palette if you like burgundy-peachy-pinky type of colours. Excellent quality and amazing packaging and smell.

Peach Blur Translucent Smoothing Finishing Powder

And here is the first disappointment of this collection. As an oily skin type, I have massive pores and so this product was one of the ones I was looking forward to the most, especially since some beauty gurus described it as “a real life filter”.

Too Faced Peach Blur_20171101205337383

Hiding my pores is an everyday important part of my makeup routine and I was hoping that this product would become one of my everyday go to. Unfortunately, this product did not work for me at all.

If you have tiny pores, and we are talking tiny, then this might actually blur them out a bit. But if you have normal size or even large pores (craters like me) then this product might not work for you. It did nothing for hiding my pores and I even felt sometimes that it actually accentuated them. Believe me I have tried every trick under the sun, using a cloth puff, patting it in, pressing it in etc. As a “pore sufferer” I have tried all the tricks under my sleeve and nothing seemed to have worked for me.

On top of that, this is not a translucent powder, it is actually strongly peachy-pink coloured so even if it did hide all your pores you wouldn’t be able to use it anywhere other than your cheeks otherwise you would end up looking like you went a little crazy with your blush.

Too Faced Peach Blur Colour transfer_20171101205305605

I actually use this as a blush now and it is very pretty and natural looking. For me, it’s a nice blush and I might even repurchase it, as a blush, but it did nothing for blurring out my pores. Maybe it works for you but for me it was a huge disappointment.

Other than that, the packaging is gorgeous, it contains a large mirror and it smells amazing, like peaches and cream.

Verdict: A nice blush but not very good on blurring out big pores. Adds a lot of colour and cannot really be used anywhere other than on the cheeks.

Bronzed Peach Melting Powder Bronzer

This comes in several colours and even comes in blush type of colours. They are all similar so I will focus on one, the Toasted Peach colour which is a brown bronzer type colour.

Too Faced Bronzed Peach_20171101205112840

The packaging is absolutely cute, a peach of whatever colour your product is, in this case, a bronzed peach. It has a mirror inside and like the rest of the products, it smells like peaches and cream.

Too Faced Bronzed Peach 2_20171101205049525

Even though the packaging is still gorgeous, I feel that this is the least expensive feeling and looking packaging out of all the products in this collection and is also the product that doesn’t match this collection 100%, in terms of looks. Still gorgeous but doesn’t follow the pinky-peach-gold theme that the other products have.

The actual bronzer (or blush) is initially somewhere between creamy and powder but turns into a powder when applied on the face. As an oily skin type, I love that the consistency is not full on creamy and that the finish is a matt powder. The colour is gorgeous for a nice tanned look and I even use it for contouring too.

Too Faced Bronzed Peach Swatch _20171101205024745

It is very easy to work with and lasts all day. This is a good product that I would definitely repurchase.

Verdict: A very nice bronzer that works well as a contour too. This product is available in many colours, so you can find a blush as well. Worth a try.

Sweetie Pie Radiant Matte Bronzer

Is it a bird? A plane? Or a bronzer? This product is a little confusing as it is labelled as a matte bronzer but looks like a highlighter pie. First off, it is not matte, it has shimmer/highlighter parts in it so it will add shininess to the face. Secondly, it is not exactly a bronzer either as it has highlighter parts and blush parts too. So it is an all in one, blush-bronzer-highlighter that you can use for the cheek area, I guess?

Too Faced Sweatie Pie_20171101210348445

The packaging is gorgeous and it has a mirror inside too. The pie pattern is so amazing looking that it is ok if you admit you bought this for how it looks and you don’t want to use it. I feel you. I’m with you.

Too Faced Sweatie Pie 2_20171101210514739

For me it is a confusing product as I would not apply highlighter, bronzer and blush in the same areas, so the all three in one combo leaves me a little confused. I use it sometimes when I can’t decide if I want to bronze or blush and I just go YOLO with it. It is gorgeous nevertheless and stays all day.

Too Faced Sweatie Pie Swatch_20171101210414540

I’m not sure I would repurchase just because I’d rather separate the products into three different ones but I probably would anyway because…it’s a gorgeous looking pie guys…

Verdict: A slightly confusing product. Three in one highlighter-blush-bronzer that is worth a try if you don’t mind combining those products in one. Or if you just want to look at this gorgeous pie…

Peach Perfect Mattifying Loose Setting Powder

Again, gorgeous looking product and I love how much powder is contained in this. It’s 35g to be exact so it will last a while. After you take the lid off, the powder is secured with another plastic lid so you won’t have the typical “I spilled powder everywhere” situations. A small touch but so, so practical, I love it. After you open the plastic lid you get into another plastic lid with holes, arrange around a peach shape (such a nice little touch) that allows the powder to come through.

Too Faced Peach Perfect Setting Powder_20171101205958950

As with the other products, it smells like peaches and cream. It has a slight peachy tint to it that disappears after you work it into the skin. The powder feels like velvet and it disappears quickly and effortlessly. It has no flashback whatsoever, which is amazing as many big brand setting powders do!

Too Faced Peach Perfect Setting Powder Swatch_20171101205922921

Verdict: A definite keeper product. If you use setting powders a lot give this one a try. The velvet texture, peaches and cream smell, gorgeous packaging and zero flash back will win you over.

Peach Kiss Comfort Matte Long Wear Lipstick

Last but not least, the gorgeous lipsticks. Did I say gorgeous? They are gorgeous. The packaging feels heavy, thick and expensive. The lipstick inside looks and feels even more expensive and if all that wasn’t enough it is truly a long wear lipstick.

Too Faced Peach Kiss_20171101205715621

It does of course transfer, like any lipstick does, but much less than normal lipsticks. It lasts much longer than other lipsticks and survives food and drink much better. It does fade after drinking and eating but it doesn’t come off completely. Your lips will still be fully covered in that lipstick colour and you don’t even need to reapply unless you want the colour more intense or even.

Too Faced Peach Kiss 3_20171101211027310

The bullet is shaped to have lots of peach impressions on it and even if at first it might sound a little silly, just look at it. It is gorgeous. Little details, great impact.

The formula is not particularly moisturising but neither drying. It doesn’t feel heavy or sticky on the lips, you could easily forget that you are wearing anything. It smells like peaches and cream and it really suits it.

The lipstick shown in the pictures is the colour “Sex on the Peach” – a lovely nude.

Verdict: I need all of the shades to be honest. These are very high-quality lipsticks that last all day and they also look gorgeous. You need them. It’s a fact. If you could only afford one product out of this collection, go for the lipsticks!

Too Faced Peaches and Cream Collection 5_20171101211139041

Verdict

Overall, I think it is an incredibly beautiful collection. The packaging and appearance of the products are spot on, 10/10. Too Faced always does a good job on that but they did seem to have upped their game with this one. In terms of product quality and function, not all products were as good as they looked but that’s ok, every collection has hits and misses. I’d personally recommend the primer if you are very oily, bronzer, setting powder and for the love of all things beauty, get yourself one of those lipsticks.

    • I’m glad you found it useful, thanks for reading! I’m sorry I’ve put you off, if you really like the products do give them a go. Beauty can be very personal and they might work for you. The primer is still good, I would just use it for a specific purpose. An article on the primer, ingredient analysis and why I would use others for all over the face coming soon.

Just followed your blog – I love how detailed your post was! ❤ I've been loving the foundation – I agree there aren't many shades available which hopefully they will expand.
